Hi there. My name is Monica Shirah and I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist for 15+ years. I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. where I learned how to work
and manipulate all types of hair textures at a young age.

In 2004, I attended UW- Madison for my undergraduate degree. Once I graduated, I KNEW that cosmetology school was next. So- in 2009, at 23 years old, I left Wisconsin to begin a new life in Phoenix, AZ. I enrolled at Toni & Guy academy in Scottsdale, AZ. When I was there I knew that I was different. I could do more curly, thick hair than anyone else- including many of the instructors. I
knew this was going to be my niche. Within one year I graduated and started working in my true passion. After being fired for the very first time in my life, from the first salon I ever worked at- I promised myself that one day, I’ll open my own
salon. A place that is inclusive, relaxed, where people feel valued and can’t wait to come back.
Throughout these past 16 years in Arizona I’ve worked independently in many different spaces. In 2014 I had my beautiful son, which only made my drive to follow my dreams that much more important.
Deeply rooted in authenticity, integrity, and compassion I had no problem putting in the hard work to be reliable and available to those who sought me out. I’ve spent countless hours, over several years building trust with my clientele.
Continued advanced education over the years has allowed me to further develop the mastery of my craft, and in 2024 My DREAM came true: I signed my
first commercial space to open my very own salon.
I am extremely grateful for the women and men who have supported me over the years. My repeat, day one customers, those who refer me to their family and
friends, and those who believed in me.
